AYWS – Thirty-three students of SMP Islam Al Azhar 67 Yogyakarta have completed the Cambridge Checkpoint/Comprehensive Test (CCPT), an academic assessment designed to evaluate students’ abilities in Science, Mathematics, and English. Held over three days, from October 13 to 15, 2026, the examination marked an important milestone in the students’ academic journey as they prepare to meet the challenges of international-standard education.

The examination took place on the SMP Islam Al Azhar 67 Yogyakarta campus and was conducted in stages. On Tuesday, October 13, students took the Science examination. The series continued with Mathematics on Wednesday, October 14, and concluded with English on Thursday, October 15.

These three subjects play an essential role in assessing students’ subject knowledge, logical reasoning, and language skills—competencies they need to thrive in an increasingly competitive, globally oriented educational environment.

For the 33 participating students, the CCPT was more than just a series of examinations to complete. It was also an opportunity to demonstrate their academic readiness, discipline, attention to detail, and sense of responsibility after a period of learning and preparation.

Throughout the examination, students completed each stage in an orderly and focused manner. The examination rooms remained conducive to learning and assessment, supported by adequate facilities and the guidance of teachers and the organizing committee, who ensured that the entire process ran smoothly.

Measuring Readiness for Global Challenges

Amid ongoing developments in education, academic competence is an essential foundation for students as they progress to the next level. Taking part in an international-standard examination such as the CCPT can help students recognize their strengths and build readiness for broader learning challenges.

Science helps students understand various phenomena and develop scientific thinking. Mathematics strengthens reasoning, precision, and problem-solving skills, while English opens up opportunities for communication and access to knowledge from around the world.

Together, these three subject areas play an important role in developing students who not only understand academic content but can also strengthen their thinking skills and embrace lifelong learning.

Nevertheless, educational success is not determined by examination scores alone. The learning process, perseverance, honesty, and the ability to face challenges are equally important in shaping students’ character and maturity.

Therefore, the conclusion of the CCPT examination on October 15, 2026, was an opportunity to recognize the efforts of all participants. Behind every answer sheet submitted were the students’ hard work, parental support, teachers’ guidance, and the prayers accompanying their academic journey.

The 33 students of SMP Islam Al Azhar 67 Yogyakarta are expected to achieve the best possible results in line with the efforts they have made. More importantly, this experience is expected to strengthen their confidence, resilience, and enthusiasm for continued growth.

Ultimately, an internationally oriented education is not solely about competing on the global stage. Equally important is developing a generation that is knowledgeable, strong in character, humble, and committed to upholding *akhlakul karimah*—noble moral values and conduct.

With these qualities as their foundation, students are expected to move confidently toward the future while growing into individuals who bring benefits to their families, faith, nation, and the global community. (Rafika)
