Excitement and Unity Mark the Start of Orientation at Al Azhar 67 Junior High School

Sleman – A wave of excitement and anticipation swept through Al Azhar 67 Junior High School on Monday, 14 July 2025, as the school officially launched its Student Orientation Program (MPLS). Held over the next three days, the program marks a pivotal transition for students stepping into a new chapter of their educational journey.

This year, the school proudly welcomes 61 new students54 seventh graders and 7 transfer students in eighth grade—into its growing academic community.

The orientation began with a warm yet formal opening ceremony, held on the indoor field located on the 10th floor of the school building. The event opened with a solemn flag-raising ceremony, reflecting the values of discipline and unity. It was followed by a symbolic presentation of student ID tags by the Principal of Al Azhar 67 Junior High School, marking the official induction of the new students into the Al Azhar family.

A touching moment during the ceremony was the formal handover of students from parents to the school, symbolizing trust and shared responsibility in shaping the future generation. Representing the parents was Mrs. Ramadhina Fitriah Shahab, S.Sos., from the Jamiyyah of Al Azhar 67 Junior High School.

After the ceremony, the atmosphere became more relaxed as students joined an ice-breaking session guided by their seniors. In a spirit of camaraderie, the newcomers took part in lively bonding activities, including the creation and performance of enthusiastic school chants, igniting their school pride early on.

The orientation continued with a series of informative sessions covering key aspects of student life. Presentations introduced the Student Affairs Program, offered a Curriculum Overview, and emphasized Islamic Character Education—a cornerstone of Al Azhar’s holistic approach to learning. These sessions were designed to help students understand the academic standards and spiritual values that shape the school’s identity.

The day concluded on a reflective and communal note. After enjoying lunch together, the students performed the Dhuhr prayer, embodying the balance between academic preparation and spiritual grounding. Activities wrapped up at 12:30 PM, ending the first day on a high note.

More than just an orientation, the program is a well-rounded initiative to help students feel at home, foster a strong sense of belonging, and instill pride in being part of the Al Azhar 67 Junior High School family—setting the tone for a meaningful and inspiring school year ahead.
