SLEMAN – Al Azhar 67 Junior High School conducted a Global Immersion Program in the United Kingdom from January 24 to February 3, 2026. This program is part of the school’s commitment to providing students with meaningful global learning experiences beyond the classroom.

During the program, students attended classes at Impington Village College, Cambridge, a state school with a diverse and multicultural learning environment. In addition to school activities, students stayed with host families located in different areas around Cambridge. Living with host families allowed students to experience British culture firsthand and practice English in real-life situations.
Each day, students traveled to school independently using public buses from their respective host families’ homes. As the host families were spread across various locations, students encountered different daily challenges. However, these situations became valuable learning experiences rather than obstacles.
Through these real-life challenges, students learned to be responsible for their time, solve problems independently, and be more aware of their surroundings. The immersion program encouraged them to step out of their comfort zones and develop essential life skills needed in a global society.
At the end of the program, students articipated in a city tour to London as the final activity. This visit is expected to broaden their understanding of world history, culture, and global perspectives, and to serve as a memorable conclusion to their immersion experience.
Through this Global Immersion Program, the school hopes to nurture students who are independent, confident problem solvers, socially aware, and globally minded, while continuing to uphold strong character values and Islamic principles. (Erni K)
