Both teams were supervised by Widya Al Karimah, S.Pd. KREASI 2026 was organized by Abak Academy in collaboration with the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at Universitas Gadjah Mada (FMIPA UGM) and Taiwan Center Indonesia. The competition began on April 30, 2026, and consisted of three stages.

The preliminary round involved proposal selection, followed by the semifinal round, which included online research preparation sessions and the submission of research reports. The competition culminated in the final round, featuring research presentations and an exhibition of the participants’ research findings before a panel of judges.

The achievements of these five teams demonstrate the students’ enthusiasm for scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and innovation. Their diverse research topics, ranging from health and natural resources to textile waste management and the influence of media on body image, reflect their awareness of scientific and social challenges in their surrounding communities.

The Principal of SMP Islam Al Azhar 67 Yogyakarta, Iyut Ayudya MPd, shared an inspiring message: “Science fiction is now becoming science fact.” This statement highlights how ideas once considered the realm of imagination can become reality through scientific knowledge, research, and innovation. The message resonates with the students’ efforts to transform creative ideas into research projects with the potential to contribute to society.

This achievement is also a testament to the collaboration between students and their research supervisors, whose guidance and support have helped the teams develop their ideas, conduct their investigations, and present their findings at the competition. SMP Islam Al Azhar 67 Yogyakarta hopes that this accomplishment will inspire more students to cultivate curiosity, creativity, and a passion for research from an early age.

Through research-based learning and continuous mentorship, the school remains committed to nurturing students who excel academically and develop innovative ideas that can make a meaningful difference in society. Congratulations to all the research teams and their supervisors on this remarkable achievement. May this success inspire the school community to continue exploring new possibilities, turning ideas into innovations, and achieving greater accomplishments in the future. (Arini)
