SLEMAN – SMP Islam Al Azhar 67 Yogyakarta successfully held its End of Year Concert 2026 on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at the Al Hafidh Auditorium, Al Azhar Yogyakarta World Schools (AYWS) Campus 1. The event served as a celebration of students’ achievements and talents throughout the academic year while providing a platform for artistic expression, collaboration, and character development.
This year’s concert carried the theme “Ruming Wening: The Noise of the World,” presenting a meaningful theatrical performance that reflected the challenges faced by today’s younger generation. Through drama, music, dance, and multimedia presentations, students delivered a powerful story about self-discovery in a world filled with distractions, expectations, and constant noise.
The story followed the journey of a young person who becomes captivated by the glitter and glamour of modern life. Surrounded by social pressures, endless comparisons, and the pursuit of recognition, the main character gradually loses sight of who they truly are. While striving to meet the expectations of others, they find themselves overwhelmed, exhausted, and emotionally drained.
As the story unfolds, the character encounters various experiences that lead to reflection and personal growth. Through moments of struggle and contemplation, they begin to understand that true happiness cannot be found in external validation or worldly achievements alone. Instead, they discover the importance of embracing their authentic self, recognizing their unique strengths, and living according to their own values and purpose.
The title “Ruming Wening” symbolizes the search for inner clarity and peace amidst the overwhelming noise of the world. The performance encouraged the audience to pause, reflect, and consider what truly matters in life. It conveyed a powerful message that every individual has a unique journey and that genuine fulfillment comes from being true to oneself rather than constantly seeking approval from others.
The concert showcased the creativity, dedication, and teamwork of the students, who spent months preparing for the production. Their performances captivated the audience and demonstrated not only artistic talent but also a deep understanding of the values conveyed through the story.
The school expressed its appreciation to all students, teachers, staff members, and parents whose support contributed to the success of the event. Beyond entertainment, the End of Year Concert served as an educational experience that nurtured confidence, creativity, collaboration, and self-awareness among students.
Through “Ruming Wening: The Noise of the World,” SMP Islam Al Azhar 67 Yogyakarta reaffirmed its commitment to holistic education by encouraging students to develop not only academically but also emotionally, socially, and spiritually. The performance reminded everyone that amidst the distractions and pressures of modern life, true peace is found when we have the courage to embrace our authentic selves.
“In a world full of noise, the greatest journey is discovering who you truly are.” (Erni K)
