AYWS – From Monday to Wednesday, September 21–23, 2026, SMP Islam Al Azhar 67 Yogyakarta at Sleman II Campus hosted the culminating student learning evaluation event known as the Student-Led Conference (SLC).
Held over three full days, the event brought together all Grade 7 and Grade 8 students, accompanied by their teachers and supported by the active participation of parents and guardians. Meanwhile, Grade 9 students remained focused on preparing for their examinations through a Cambridge Checkpoint Test simulation.
The Student-Led Conference at SMP Islam Al Azhar 67 Yogyakarta is more than simply a means of reporting academic results. It is a space for growth that empowers students to take ownership of their learning journey.
Through this program, students take center stage as communicators and reflect on the academic progress and character they have developed throughout the first half of the semester. They are encouraged to present their learning projects, from subjects within both the national and international curricula to their Qur’an memorization, directly to their parents.
The three-day event unfolded in a warm, meaningful, and enthusiastic atmosphere. Moments of pride and emotion filled the classrooms as students confidently shared their learning goals, challenges they had overcome, and personal commitments to becoming better versions of themselves.
Interactive question-and-answer sessions between parents and their children created an open and supportive dialogue. The SLC sessions concluded with a Parents-Teachers Conference (PTC), during which teachers shared updates on each student’s learning progress and development over the past three months.
Through the SLC, the school seeks not only to assess students’ cognitive achievements but also to nurture Islamic values and foster essential qualities such as the courage to express ideas, responsibility, and leadership. (Raf)
